Halloween at Blenheim Palace opened its sensational new trail with this spine-chilling message to visitors – “The darker it gets, the spookier it gets”.
Crowds flocked to the opening weekend of the Halloween experience which runs during autumn half term (October 20-29), wandering through the mysterious grounds of the magnificent 18th century property in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside.
Due to the trail’s popularity last year, gates open at the earlier time of 5.30pm for 2023, giving younger visitors the chance to experience it in daylight, before twilight and moonlight descend.
Blenheim Palace CEO Dominic Hare said: “Halloween at Blenheim Palace is a wonderful chance to immerse yourself in our beautiful gardens as you’ve never seen them before, with fantastic shocks and surprises awaiting visitors to our atmospheric illuminated trail.”
New thrills for 2023 include fantastic fire performers from Let’s Circus just before you enter a scary spider tunnel – but beware the faceless horseman in the mist. Discover demons, listen to the werewolves’ howl and watch out for the warlock.
As you approach Dracula’s crypt, keep a keen eye out for the fanged menace lurking within. Keep your wits about you as you enter the Secret Garden – there are monsters at large!
Settle your nerves with a delicious selection of sweetest treats with a twist. Enjoy a fiendishly good *hot toddy or devilishly decadent *hot chocolate and toast a marshmallow or two.
