Living so close to Windsor we love to pop over there and have a mooch around and take a stroll along the river. Yesterday we did just that with the addition of taking a visit to the Castle, something I have not done for a few years.
We love our family days and last year we visited Hampton Court (I am such a history geek that now the children get dragged along – in fact they seem to love it more than me!). So yesterday we took a tour of the Castle so I could show the youngsters the State Apartments and Queen Mary’s Doll’s House plus the vast grounds.
One of my favourite places here is St George’s Chapel and unfortunately it was closed yesterday so do check dates/times/openings before you book!
Here are just a few snaps – you must go if you haven’t! And remember to get your tickets stamped on your way out as this enables to re-visit as many times as you want for a year (I forgot to do this!!!! Now am waiting to hear from the Royal Collection Trust if they can help me!). A family ticket cost us £53 for 2 adults and 2 under-17s;bit of a bargain really for a fab day out and a chance for me to enlighten the Foxy Fam with all my monarchy knowledge!
