Chiltern Samaritans is based in Amersham and covers the South Bucks area for the well known national charity. Samaritans is totally self funded and so this branch has chosen an annual Charity Cycle Ride as its major fundraiser. Funds raised support the activities of their 140 volunteers. In the first 4 rides they’ve raised over £65,000 about 1/2 their annual running costs.
The 2023 event takes place on June 24th and starts in West Wycombe. Riders can choose 40, 80 or 130 km distances riding through the gorgeous Chiltern countryside.
It’s a lovely event with terrific ingredients, including
– a free Burger and Beer(soft drinks too) at the finish,
– feedstations stocked with delicious home baked treats and manned by the branch’s volunteers and
– a warm welcome at the event village in West Wycombe with live music and massages to ease those aching limbs.
